I just wanted to share a word with each one of you regarding sowing and the miracle of seed faith. There are 3 factors that are key to seed-time and harvest in the kingdom of God. I have made a covenant with my flesh that I am going to be faithful with the unrighteous Mammon (Matt 6:23-25), when ever I go to the House of God I am going to give something; never will I let the offering bucket pass me by. I decided a few years ago that I will no longer just give money but I give seed for a harvest. Whenever I thought of it as giving money I withheld what was God’s because I saw it ‘as me diminishing myself’ that is to say I was left with less money than before I gave! So, I started to view it as ‘sowing a seed’, hence, I gave expecting a harvest; (every seed has a return larger than what’s sown)
Here are the notable Keys:
1) God is my source.
When you sow your seed, look up to God for the harvest. There is an old proverbs that says “a bell is not a bell till you ring it; a song is not a song until you sing it and Love is not love until you give it away hence a seed is not a seed until it’s sown in good ground.
Philippians 4:19 “...my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.“
2) Begin to sow your seed out of your need.
Target your seed directly at your need. Why would you sow sparingly when you expect a bountiful harvest? Or why would a farmer sow corn then expect a bounty wheat harvest?
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
If you say I would like to give but I don’t have enough money…it probably means what you have in your hand is a SEED. (This includes but not limited to our time, talent or treasure.)
3) Sow with expectancy of a miracle.
I’m to expect a new miracle everyday. A wrong attitude/ bad spirit leaves no room for successful sowing for a bountiful harvest. You can’t do bad and give good seed (resentment, insubordination, pride)…Gal 6:7 in the same manner that a good seed multiplies exponentially; so will a bad seed! Overcome the bad seed you sowed: Pray God take the bad spirit away from you so you won’t have to reap the bad harvest!
****Point of honor in Giving****: do not hold grudges. Forgive and (if possible) reconcile: Matt 5:24-25 (23) So then, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, (24) leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother and then come and present your gift. Expect a miracle harvest from your seed because the harvest is always more and better than the seed.
Amos 9:13 “Be sure of this, the time is coming,” says the LORD, “when the plowman will catch up to the reaper and the one who stomps the grapes will overtake the planter. Juice will run down the slopes, it will flow down all the hillsides. You can never out give God. He will surpass and overtake you the more faithful you are. Man adds, the devil divides, but God is in the business of acceleration and multiplication.
I leave you with this to meditate on and remind God every time you prepare your seed and declare a harvest. Remember the harvest is plenty but the laborers are few and it is the faith seed that activates the harvest. The harvest is automatic…the size is determined by your seed! All you need is faith the size of the mustard seed.
ISAIAH 55:10 says The rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return, but instead water the earth and make it produce and yield crops, and provide seed for the planter and food for those who must eat. (vs11) In the same way, the promises that I make does not return to me, having accomplished nothing. No, it is realized as I desire and is fulfilled as I intend.“…
If this scripture holds true then I will stand on the over 1200 promises of God in His word including this one: Malachi 3:10 Bring ye the whole tithe into the store house, that there may be food in my house, and prove me now herewith, saith Jehovah of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough[ to receive it].
“Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine” (Prov 3:9-10)
Til next time …Plead and stand on the promises of God with your seed and in prayer.
